DESCRIPTION:Support our local fitness group\, BGB Crossfit who are hosting this event at Southern Ground Amphitheater on September 18th\, 2021. Enjoy watching these athletes compete while eating from the delicious food trucks at the event! It is FREE to be a spectator at this event however\, if you would like to be a competitor please reach out to Nathan Black at nathan@bgbcrossfit.com. \nThe Ghostly Games is growing! We are building an event that anyone in the fitness community can enjoy. With that we are bringing a sanctioned weightlifting meet to the games this year! In order to run smoothly in conjunction with our CrossFit events\, we have partnered with Allsouth Barbell for their reputation of professional well run events! We look forward to seeing all of you there celebrating your strength in a one of a kind event. \nThe Ghostly Games open will be a 2 session local meet. With that being said space is limited to 30 competitors. 15 lifters on the 20kg bar\, and 15 lifters on the 15kg bar. All experience levels welcome. If we have enough interest we will run a “headhunters” session later in the evening under the lights in the Amphitheater with a cash prize. SUMMARY:9/11 - 20th Anniversary Commemoration Tribute Event
DESCRIPTION:A second annual Fayetteville 9-11 Tribute is being planned for Saturday\, September 11\, at our new City Center Park. This year’s event will feature a special 20th anniversary commemoration of the tragic events that took place on that day in New York\, Washington\, D.C. and Pennsylvania. \nThis event is again being hosted by the City of Fayetteville and Main Street Fayetteville along with the local American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts. Last year’s event was sponsored by several local organizations and individuals\, and those sponsorship opportunities are being offered for 2021 as well. \nThe 2021 Fayette County 9-11 Tribute will begin at 6pm on the lawn at City Center Park. The ceremony will again include special music\, speeches\, a helicopter flyover\, and other performances to honor the lives lost on September 11\, 2001. There will also be a special recognition of U.S. military prisoners of war and personnel who are missing in action.  \nThe program will be followed after sunset with a free screening of the family film “Playing with Fire” (Rated PG). DESCRIPTION:Fayetteville hosts City Center Park Grand Opening July 17 \nThe City of Fayetteville will open the new City Center Park in grand style Saturday\, July 17\, with midday and evening events full of fun and entertainment. The first event\, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.\, will be themed for families\, with kid crafts and activities\, inflatables\, a high-energy workout sponsored by HiTONE Fitness\, a fun run around the park\, performances by local organizations\, and more. Drink and food trucks will be on site selling tasty treats as well. \nThe second event\, scheduled for 6-10 p.m.\, will feature beer and food trucks\, a KidsZone and community art station\, live music from Phil and the Blanks\, and culminating in a DJ-hosted dance party produced by Ultrasonic Entertainment. \nAdmission and activities are free of charge. \nThese events not only mark the official opening of City Center Park\, but they are also the first of many free\, public events planned and hosted by the City of Fayetteville in 2021. \nFollowing the July 17 grand opening events\, City Center Park will be open daily. More details about park hours and offerings will be published soon on the City’s website\, www.Fayetteville-GA.gov/News.
